Uttar Pradesh is the state of India situated in the Northern part of the country, formed on 1 April 1937 as a state. Earlier it was also known as United Provinces Agra, but in 1950 it was renamed as Uttar Pradesh. On 9 November 2000, a new state of Uttarakand was carved from the Uttar Pradesh. It is the state which shares its borders with 9 states and Nepal country. Since it is the fourth largest area in the country, the state has 18 divisions and 75 districts. Lucknow is the capital of the state which is also known as the city of the Nawabs. It is the most populous state in India with about 200 millions of people.

Uttar Pradesh is the largest state of india as per population. According to 2011 census, Uttar Pradesh has an estimated population of about 199,581,477 which is 16.49% of over all population of india. Uttar Pradesh is equivalent to Brazil in term of population. The male and female ratio is about 1000/908 in the state. In the early 21th century, the state had an overall population more than twice the National Average. As per census, Allahabad is the most populous district of Uttar Pradesh. 


Culture of Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh is known for its culture and the also the state of various religions. This state is blessed with the cities like Ayodhya, the birthplace of lord Rama and Mathura, the birthplace of lord krishna. Every types of people from various religious groups live together in the state. Uttar Pradesh is the home of about 79.73 percent of Hindus, 19.26 percent of Muslims, 0.32 percent of Sikhs and others. Hindi is the most spoken language of the state. 



The traditional dance of the the state is kathak, and ancient Indian dance form. The traditional folk music of the state is Rasiya, especially known in Braj. This is celebrated the devine love  of Radha and Shri Krishna.

Taj Mahal was designated as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 for being " The Jewell of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpiece of the world's heritage. 2. Bhindi ka Salan.



Bhindi ka Salan is the famous traditional dish of Uttar Pradesh. This recipe is a native to Mughal cuisine. It is the experiment that change the Mirch ka Salan and use the ladyfinger intsead of Mirch. This dish is prepared with cripy ladyfinger dipped in yogurt based gravy with the traditional spices. 


3. Mutton Kofta.



Mutton kofta is the famous dish of Uttar Pradesh found in every corner of the state. This is one of the most having dish in every family of the state. This dish is prepared with mutton and the spices and served as dried kabab or with the gravy in the combination with basmati rice. 


4. Peda.

Peda is the most famous sweet of Mathura. It is made from cream, cardamom, rose essence and the ghee. This sweet is found in every corner or Mathura city which gives you a sweet and delightful taste to mouth. A must reffered sweet in Mathura.

Ramleela is the most popular for the enactment of lord Rama, with the inspiration of the epic Ramcharitamanas written by the great saint Tulsidas. It is celebrated on the occasion of Vijaydashami or Dussehra. This is one of the most famous festival celebrate in the Ayodhya city of Uttar Pradesh. 


2. Barsana Holi.
