ARUNACHAL PRADESH


Arunachal Pradesh is the state situated in the North-East part of the Indian Republic. This state also known as The Orchid State of India. Arunachal Pradesh was formed in 21 January 1972 as Union Territory, later it was recognized as a state in 20 February 1987. The state shared its border with Assam and Nagaland to the south, Bhutan to the west, Myanmar to the east and the Disputed border of China at the McMahon line in the north. Arunachal Pradesh is the largest state in the Seven Sisters State of India. Itanagar is the Capital of the State. The state owns very amazing and beautiful mountains, rivers, waterfalls and vast variety of flora and fauna. This state also famous as the land of rising sun in India because the sun first arise through the Arunachal Pradesh in India. The GDP of the state is about $US 4.25 Billions which rank 30 in the India's GSDP table. The per capita income of the state is about 1 lakh 40 thousand.

HISTORY


The History of the Arunachal Pradesh is quite unique and ancient as it is mentioned in the literature of ancient Kalika Puran and in the epic Mahabharata. This place is known as the Prabhu Mountains of Puranas. This was the place where lord Krishna married his consort Rukmani, lord Parashuram atoned his sins, Saint Veyas meditate here and  King Bhimsaka found his kingdom here. As far as we gone with the time, the history of the state became more efficient. Here we discuss about the main turning point of the history of the state. 

In 1912-13, when British government made agreements with the indigenous people of the Himalayas of the North-east India to establish the North East Frontier Agency from five tracts of Frontier land. In 1913 - 1914, the British Administrator Sir Henry McMahon drew the 550 miles of McMahon Line as the border between British India and Tibet, Placing Tawang and other areas within British India.

After the Independence of India in 1947, China made claims to practically the whole upland area of what was then Assam state, arguing that the McMahon line had never been accepted by China and was the result of the British Aggression. The conflict between India and China is continue at that time also. With all this problems, In 20 Febuary 1987, Arunachal Pradesh became the state of the United India.






CULTURE


Arunachal Pradesh is well known for its ancient culture popularly known as the The Land of Dawnlit Mountains. The culture of the state is truly distinctive as the comprises of 26 different tribes including various sub - tribes. The people of the state mostly rive in the rural area as the economy of the state is based on Agriculture. The population of the state mostly Hindus and the Christians. While other groups also lived here together. English is the official language of the state as  Hindi is the most most spoken language of the state. Monpa, Miji, adi, Miju-Mishmi etc are the other regional language of the state.

The culture of the state is shown in the ethnic dresses, folk dance and music of the state. The women of the state wear a sleeveless chemise  with an ambroidered, Full sleeves jackets along with petticoat or skirt. The men of the state wear sleeveless silk material with its edge attached to the shoulders. The costume falls down till knee length and wear skull cap with yak hairs. The traditional dance of the state are  Aji Lamu, Chalo, Ponung, Ropi, Loin and Peacock dance etc. The folk Music of the state are Ja-Jin-Ja and Baryi etc

1. TAWANG. 


Tawang is one of the most popular destination and a important town of the Arunachal Pradesh. This is the high altitude town located at the height of 10000 feet on the lap of the mighty Himalayas. This place is famous for its scenic beauty and amazing Montages, beautiful lakes and the Buddhist monasteries which make this place more beautiful. This place is the home of the largest monastery in India and the Tawang War Memorial. If you are a mountain lover so this place is the paradise for you. The best time recorded to visit the place is between March to June and September to October.




2. NAMDAPHA NATIONAL PARK. 


Namdapha National Park is one of the most popular tourist destination and the important Bioreserve of Arunachal Pradesh. Namdapha National park is one of the 20 spot in India where you will be able to find the Red Panda. This is the 3rd largest park and Bioreserve of the country. In this park you explore many other species like the big cats species including the Tiger, leopard, clouded leopard and snow leopard. Many tourists came every year to visit and explore the beauty and adventure of the place. You can visit this place any time in the year. So whenever you make the plan to visit the state must explore this place.




3. SELA PASS. 


Sela Pass in also one of the famous and most visited place of the Arunachal Pradesh. This is a mountain Pass situated at the height of 13,700 feet from sea level. This place is a paradise for the nature lovers as this place covered with snow throughout the year. This is a sacred place for the Buddhists and they believe that there are 101 lakes around it. The special thing about this place is that the lakes of this place will freeze during the winter season which is a visual spectacle. You can experience the beauty of the Himalayas while you reach through this pass. The best time is recorded to visit the place is between March to April and October to November.




4. NURANANG FALLS. 


Nuranang Falls is one of the most beautiful place situated in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh. Popularly known as the Bong Falls. This waterfall flow down at the height of about 6000 feet. Nuranang Falls will look as if heaven is showering al the water to the ground. The environment and the beauty of the place make it a paradise for the nature loving people. Not Many people know about this beautiful waterfall so you can actually have some quality alone to release all the stress out. The best time recorded to visit the place is between June to November to get the better experience.








POPULAR FOOD OF ARUNACHAL PRADESH



Arunachal Pradesh is famous for its popular food dishes which give you an amazing and delight experience which is hard to resist. So lets discuss about some popular food of Arunachal Pradesh. 




1. WUNGWUT NGAM. 


Wungwut Ngam is one of the most popular dish of Arunachal Pradesh. The taste of the dish is quite simple and delicate. It is a chicken dish prepared with rice powder. The dish is made of raw rice roasted then ground into a fine powder. The chicken pieces are marinated in the rice powder along with herbs and spices and then boiled. The taste and texture of the dish is crispy and the spicy, because of traditional species make the dish magical. Whenever you visit the state must try this diah to know more about the culture and traditional taste of the state.




2. RICE. 


Rice is considered the lifeline of people of the Arunachal Pradesh. Rice is the principal ingredient of the dish of the state. In Arunachal Pradesh, two types of rice are cooked and that too in an unique style. The first one is called Dung Po and is cooked using two brass utensils, the rice is wrapped in leaves before serving. It is believed that the brass utensils add traditional flavor to the cooked rice. The other variety is called Kholam and is cooked in a bamboo tube filled with water. They both are served hot with traditional fish curry. You can fine this delicate in every corner of the state.




3. BAMBOO SHOOTS. 


Bamboo shoots is the dish which is most cooked and quite famous in the North Eastern states of the country. Every dish whether it is vegetarian or non vegetarian is incomplete without a hint of bamboo shoots. This famous and traditional dish made of tender bamboo, marinated in baking soda and ground spices on a low flame. The taste of the dish is very amazing and remind the cultural values of the state. It is a hot and crispy side dish that every Arunachalis relish with every meal. 




4. Meat. 


Meat is one of the most consuming dish of the Arunachal Pradesh. People of the state love to eat yak meat. The taste of the dish is amazing but this is not just about the taste, because of the high altitude and snow, the meat of yak help the people to keep their body warm in the winter. This dish cooked in various method. With the traditional methods and species, the taste of the dish enhance. It taste best when you roast it in open fire. Gather around the camp and roast them in a camp fire make the moment more awesome. Whenever you visit the state and you are a meat lover so. Must try this dish. 







POPULAR FESTIVAL OF ARUNACHAL PRADESH


Arunachal Pradesh is famous for its traditional festival which is celebrated with full of joy and excitement. So. Lets discuss about some popular festival of Arunachal Pradesh. 



1. PANGSAU PASS WINTER FESTIVAL. 


Pangsau Pass Winter festival is one of the the most famous festival celebrate by the local in Nampong in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh. The festival was started in the year of 2007. The duration of the festival is 3 days celebrated in the month of January every year. This is the festival of ethnicity and togetherness. On this day, people perform dances and sing folk songs, exhibition and stalls held in the place of celebration. The festival blends the tribes of North East and Myanmar to exhibit their traditions and cultures. People of different state also witnessed and participate in this festival. 




2. ZIRO FESTIVAL OF MUSIC. 


Ziro Music festival is one of the most famous festival of state known as the Sunburn of Arunachal Pradesh. This festival is the biggest and also the most happening outdoor festival in the state of Arunachal Pradesh. This festival is celebrated in the month of September as peoplw of different state participate in the festival. The duration of the festival is 4 days and open for all music lovers to enjoy both local and international music artists. If you are a music lover then you will spend some of the unforgettable moments of this festival.





3. SIANG RIVER FESTIVAL. 


Siang River festival is the most important festival that celebrates for the communal harmony of this gorgeous state. It was said that this was part of the Brahmaputra Darshan Festival, before the year 2005. This festival promote ecotourism and also offer many fun-filled activities and other activities. You can enjoy the games including elephant race, river rafting, food festival and more. People from the North Eastern States also join this festival as this festival brings joy and happiness in everyone's heart.




4. NYOKUM. 


The Nyokum festival is the famous festival celebrate by the Nyishi tribes of Arunachal Pradesh. This is the festival celebrate for the prosperity and harmony of the people. This festival is celebrated on the 28th feb every year in the East Kemang district, Lower Subansiri District, Papumpar district and Kurung Kummey district. The duration of the festival is two days. On this day people sing and dance on folk songs. The men and women hold hands and in circle for a traditional dance. This is one of the unique festival of Arunachal Pradesh which is celebrated  with full of joy and happiness.
