Haryana is the northern state of india popular known as The Green Land Of India. Haryana was formed on 1 November 1966, by carved out (Divide) from the east Punjab on the language basis. The capital of Haryana is Chandigarh. The population of the Haryana are mostly Hindu and also other religious groups are Islam, Christianity etc. 



Hindi is the most spoken language of the state. Haryanvi is the state language and the 2nd most spoken language of the state. large number of area of this state used of agriculture as Haryana is one of the major producer or supplier of agriculture products in India. Haryana is one of the most sport promoting state in India as the people of Haryana participate in every sports and represent India at the Global level. 



Culture

Haryana is listed in one of those state who preserved and follow the state culture. The culture of Haryana reflect in the day to day life of the people. The folk music, songs, poems show the traditional culture of the state. In every house of the Haryana, the hukka and khaat found as it become the identity of the Haryanvi peoples. The traditional dresses and the dance shows the uniqueness of the state. 


. Traditional Dresses

The women in Haryana wear their traditional dress which includes Damaan, kurti and Chunder. Damman is a fairy ankle long skirt. Kurti is a shirt like blouse usually white in colour and the Chundar is the decorated coloured piece of cloth used for covered the heads and is wear like the pallav of the saree. 

The men generally wear Dhoti, the wrap around cloth tucked between the legs with a white coloured kurta worn on the top. Pagri is a traditional headgear for men. Which is now wore only by the old men of the village. All- white attire is a status symbol for men in Haryana.



. Traditional Music and Dance

Haryana owns the rich variety of folk Music which shows the ancient culture of the states. The folk music of Haryana are Bhats, Saangis and Jogis.  These musics are made from the traditional instruments like sarangi, dholak, chimta, manjeera, ghungroo and clapping. 



In Haryana, you find the variety of traditional dance forms like the Dhamal dance which remindd the bhangra of punjab. Some other dance forms are Khoria dance, Saang dance, chhath dance and jhoomar dance. 



Traditional Food

Haryana is popular for the traditional food dishes which gives you mouth watering feel only after reading about these dishes. So lets discuss about the traditional dishes of Haryana. 


1. Bajara Aloo Roti.

It is the one of the most popular dish cooked in every house of Haryana. The appropriate season for enjoy this dish is winter. The preparation process of this dish is also very interesting. When the millet is mixed with the smashed potatoes the unique mixture is prepared. This dish is served with the curd, pickles and the sabji to enhanced the taste of the dish. 


2. Singri Sabzi.

It is also the most popular dish of Haryana. This dish have a tangy and sour taste as it is prepared by dry mongoes powder, yogurt & berries and cooked with some traditional spices which enhance the taste of the dish. You can easily find the dish in every corner of Haryana and experience the taste of the dish when you visit the state. 


3. Bathua Raita.

The Bathua Raita is one of the typical Haryanvi cuisine majorly cooked in every house of Haryana. This dish gives a pleasent taste and help to digest the food. This dish is made up of yogurt and the bathua leaves which is anti oxidant and very healthy for the body. This dish is serve as a dessert with the regular food to digest the food. 



There are several dishes like gajar methi, kachri sabzi, bhura roti, mithe chawal and mix daal etc which gives you ultimate pleasure. So whenever you make plan to visit Haryana, must try these dishes.

1. Chandigarh.

Chandigarh is the capital of both Punjab and Haryana. The city is known as the best planned city in the country. This city is also famous for the Rock Garden. It is founded by Nek Chand Saini, the government official who start built this garden in his spare time in 1957. This garden is also famous for the most eco friendly garden in the country because it is made up of recycled material from the domestic and industrial waste.

1. Gangore.

The festival of Gangore is celebrated in Haryana every year in the month of March and April. On this day women decrote the idols of Gangore and Ishar. The unmarried women worshipped to the goddess Gauri and sing devotional songs. This is festival is celebrate in Haryana with full of jaoy and excitment and famous throughout the India. 


2. Teej.

Teej is celebrated in Haryana every year to welcome the monsoon season and look forward to the first shower of the south west monsoons. On this day girls apply henna on their hands and receive new clothes from the member of the house. This festival bring together the people of haryana and fill thier life with full or joy and happiness. 


3. Basoda festival.

Basoda festival is celebrated in Haryana every year after eight days of Holi. This festival is dedicated to goddess Sheetla, also known as Sheetla Astami. On this day people do not lit fire for cooking food, cook meal one day before and consume previous day food on this day. 

There are several festivals celebrate in Haryana like lohri, Holi, Diwali, Basant panchami etc which spread the happiness and joy in everyone's heart and tied them together in the brotherhood.
